I just put new front breaks on my 95 disco and when it was up on jacks i could spin my left front wheel and i couldn't spin my right. I didnt think anything of it at the time but when i went off roading i noticed that my left front tire wasn't turning at all. I dont know whats wrong maybe the hub or the axle. And one more thing my floor board right behing my drivers seat get warm to the touch maybe ya'll could help me with that.
Thanks,
Rob

Rob,

Do you mean that the wheel does not roll, like it is locked up? Or do you mean that it doesn't apear to have power to it?

that is because you have open differentials. power will always flow to the path of leaste resistance. when you are diff locked and you get one ft and one rear off the ground you will just spin like crazy. go to howthingswork.com and look up differentials. It will explain alot.

With an open dif, with both wheels in the air, you should be able to turn one and the other goes in the other direction. If not, something is borken. Check the dif and axles.
When you say you were off roading and it wasn't turning, was it just dragging?

The heat is is somewhat normal. It's a great place to put pizza if you want it warm after a drive. :-)

The wheel wasn't dragging it was turning as i moved but when i got it stuck it didn't look like it had power to it. But i went to winch my friend out the other day and that tire was throwing mud everywhere so maybe its just me and thinking that there is something wrong when everything is fine.
