Just got 5 new BFG A/T 245/75-16's installed on the D2 today. Wanted the Dunlop r/t's but for some reason they were the same price ($149) as the BFG's. The shop tech showed me where 2 of the shocks were leaking and said they could cause scalloping of the tires after a few miles. Are the shocks covered under warranty after 35k miles??? If not I will be ordering 4 Bilsteins Monday morning. Has anyone else bought k/o's recently? The weasel sales person didn't give me any paperwork concerning the BFG off road warranty, he didn't even know about it and told me to get it off the internet. |

How RUDE! What tire retailer did you deal with ? I understand at one time, I don't know if they still have it, BFG stated that if you ever got stuck with their tires due to a tire failure, they would come and get you. I just wonder to what extreme they meant.

Luis They have the adventure assurance program. Its limited to the first $60 and only three times a year. The tech installed the special spare lugs on the regular wheels and didn't put enough air in the left rear tire. The manager is on vacation, I'll let you know what store if you e-mail me offline. Reminds me of when I took my '95 to Winston for a new set of tires and they told me the same thing about my shocks. I was skeptical. When I had my Land Rover dealer check the shocks a few hundred miles later, there was, of course, nothing wrong. When I did finally need new shocks, I had Bilsteins put on, and handling really improved, with no consequences offroad. |

From what I've gathered, BFG will cover up to 60 bucks for a profesional off road recovery (with a tow truck). Now, from what I've heard, such a recovery will cost twice to three times as much as that depending on how you're stuck. As anyone can deduce, the worse you're stuck, the more $$$$ you will have to pay. Max T. |
