Does anyone know which years the Discovery had which green paints? (And, did they differ by models?)

I like the muted/faded/mossy green that I've seen about town a few times a lot better than a more vivid, deep green and would like to steer my browsing-to-buy intentions toward the years when the mossy greens were available (provided there weren't any particularly horrible issues with that year otherwise).

Thanks...

Or how about Willow Green (sort of a metalic Olive Drab)

If it is Willow green. It was an option in 96 and 97 for sure other than that I am not sure, but don't think it was.

on '94-'95 (maybe '96)

Wow, thanks all. With those names I went hunting and found this color chart for a bunch of Disco shades:
http://www.disco2.com/howto/traveller/paintcodes/index.phtml

From that I'd suspect it was the Kent Green that I saw, though the Coniston's nice too. The Kent looked better in real light than did the pix, I think.

How about woodcote green, I get people asking about the color all the time and it hides small scratches very well. You do not see a whole lot of this color either. 99 DII.-matt

Willow Green. I know it was offered 96 and 97 for sure. I think it evolved into Kent Green. Mine is Willow:

When I bought my '96, I had a choice between two almost identical Discos. One was Willow Green, and the other was Altair Silver. I couldn't make up my mind, I really liked the green. My girlfriend chose the silver. I might get a Willow Green one someday. ;-)

Kent was only on Discovery II's, so that should help narrow it down.
Colors & LRs don't always follow hard & fast rules, though. I've seen a Niagara grey series I discovery (1999), and a Woodcote green Series II Discovery (1999). Both should not exist, but they do.
In 2002 and 2003, Kent was replaced with Vienna, a VERY light green.
Here are all the greens I can name:
Lets see:
British Racing Green
Conniston Green
Willow Green
Kent Green
Vienna Green
Bronze Green
Woodcote Green
Cypress Green
Eastnor Green
Ardennes Green
Mosswood
Brooklands Green
Epsom Green
Charleston Green

funny you mention Mosswood and left out the word "Green" Alyssa.

my '93 LWB RR is Mosswood and it is definately a strange color. of course it matches the RR personality very well.

From what I remember, the color wasn't called Mosswood Green, just Mosswood.

FWIW, the Kent green on that post doesn't look like Kent green...at least on my monitor.

Alyssa, from your chart, which is a great summary, Mosswood was only officially used in '93 on the RR? No wonder I don't see it too often.

now that you mention it, I've only seen it listed as Mosswood when checking the RR build number info with LR.

I believe that is correct. You don't see Kinversand that often, either. It was only offered in 1999. Some colors weren't that popular with the general public, and LR only made a few of them. Or they were just trying to make it exclusive.

Land Rover's Charleston Green (which is nothing like REAL Charleston Green) is a very light pastel-mint-teal shade... there is a darker shade of teal, though, that I *think* is Caprice Green, but I'm not sure on that one.... it might be one of those other ones that I don't recognize (Ardennes?)...

Caprice Teal. Bright blue/green teal color. More on the blue side of things than on the green side.

Alyssa:

Great job on documenting all greens offered for Disco's! I do have a correction for you on British Racing Green (94-95 RR, 98 DI, 97 D90). Late in the '97 model year Land Rover released the LSE model that had British Racing Green as an option.

I believe B.R.G. is the best color to represent a Land Rover:-)

It would be cool to pull a resource together of all the LR colors used with color chips. If someone has the resources, I'd be willing to put together the HTML to format it and pass it over to D-Web to put in the tech section.
