I'm looking for a better winch hook than what came with my Warn 9k. I'm wanting one that locks, rather than being left open.
What pound rating should I look for. Probably something over 9k right? LOL.

Thanks

Thats exactly what I needed Peter.

On the locking hook........

To swivel or not to swivel, that is the question.

These guys have some for a little bit cheaper Blake, looks like they MIGHT be the same hook but I'd look into the capacities first before you buy.

Wow, that is a good deal cheaper for the non-swivel. I'd give them a call first and check the specs, otherwise it sounds great.

Thanks Carter

I emailed them. I'll post the specs when they give them to me. That is an awesome price compared to 96 if in fact it is the same or almost the same thing.

28.5 ultimate strength

5 to 1 working load ???

The guy said it was the same hook. I had a hard time understanding him. But I gave him the other link to recoverygear.com and he said it was the same hook.

Why not just use a D-ring? They work damn well and they cost 15 bucks. And they don't get much safer.
