While on the trail today my Check Engine light came on, not as a result of any particular instance that I could tell. I stopped at Autozone to have them read the code, which they said means I need to take the Disco for a service.

I've had a nose about the Internet and found the following explanation;

P1313 - Misfire Catalyst Damage Fault Bank A

WTF? Can anyone translate this into normal English?

My Disco is a '97 4.0

Any help appreciated, I would hate to have to resort to taking it to a dealer.

You can look up the translation on the internet. Just type in 'OBD Fault Codes.' Some of the websites have translations.

Not sure how much this will help, but it has been talked about on another board. Here is some of the info that has been passed around.

Thanks Joey, I found the same link last night. A good read but a little worrying.

I think I'll start with new plugs & leads. Next step O2 sensors if it continues, after that I don't want to think about right now.
