Hey guys - I am about to install a set of Hella 4000s but am not sure which configuration to use for the wiring harness. There are a number of options as to how to wire up the lights depending on which beams may be in use. I have a set of cornering lights. It seems to me that the main beam configuration seems most reasonable. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Jason,

Check out the tech section under lighting.

http://www.discoweb.org/lights

If that is not detail enough, there are 150 threads in the archives from the last 365 days. Tons of great info are hidden in there.

Also, to compliment pauls suggestion

under the resources page, check out the list of vendors.

go to susquehanna motorsports web site

They have a great hella 4000 specific wire diagram

Thanks guys - The Susquehanna site was very useful. I had checked the archives and tech section out as you suggested Paul, but it actually seemed to complicate the situation since I am using the Hella wiring harness. The harness seems very straightforward but there are a number of different ways to configure the switch and I wasn't sure which would be the best arrangement. I figure I will wire them into the high beams as that seems most useful.

Jason,

You should wire the lights into the beam pattern that you would normally use them. I have my roof rack lights wired into the Parking Light and others prefer low beam. See what I mean. I used the Hella harnesses with mine and I diked the yellow wire because I do not have the city light function.
