You might check for an air blockage, elevate the coolant resevoir and open the bleed screw, if air comes out for a while, bingo! |

This means taking the radiator out and taking it to a shop and letting them pop the caps and actually stick rods through the core to unclog it. I had same problem on my 91 RR but it was too far gone to just rod, had it recored for $350 was like new. Also check the water pump (although I've never actually seen an impeller go bad) if thats good look to thermostat, could be stuck and not opening enough. |

Hawke's radiator in Mesa, 834-6860. Same day service. Pulling it is pretty easy, just messy. |

Roald, On my DII the top coolant tube (which runs across the top of the radiator) has a small screw in it, which can be opened to allow air to escape. Since this is a high-point in the system, air tends to settle there. Not sure about a DI, but it must have something similar, if not a simple radiator cap. |

Erik, on a D1 you can open the radiator on the righthand side to airbleed. tks everybody for the sugestions, i had the radiator flushed and cleaned on the inside for $30 in Mexicali got my parts yesterday and im gonne replace the thermostate as well for a mexicali style open one (redo the old one). even my expansion reservoir is cracked on the top/bottom seal roald |

replaced the reservoir and cap as well everything is dry now, only thing left is temp. goes up when driving uphill (close to red) who has sugestions to solve this?? also when stopped for a few minutes the cap starts bleeding coolant right now after a trip mexicali/LA both ways my reservoir is almost empty but doesn't bleed any more liquid roald |
