Reconnect it and quit being a moron. Why don't you ask questions first...then start disconnecting chit on your vehicle? Reconnect it. Do not drive with it disconnected. Doing so will 1) give you a vacuum leak, which may lead to a slightly lean condition as well as the potential for incorrectly metered fuel BECAUSE THE FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR ALSO RELIES ON MANIFOLD VACUUM; and 2) the vacuum line to the distributor causes the ignition timing to advance or retard with changes in manifold vacuum. This vacuum line is crucial to maintaining the correct timing curve. Driving around with the vacuum hose disconnected leaves the timing retarded from what it otherwise should be at the respective engine vacuum. What can happen? Other than cooking your manifolds and cats, maybe you might drop an exhaust seat and toast your exhaust valves. Have fun. |

Why would you want to disconnect it ? What benefits are you trying to achieve ? And even if there were any benefits to it, they would be so negligible, you wouldn't even notice on the dynomometer. Case closed. Hook it back up. |

My vacuum advance was broke for a couple of days before I noticed. My car idles like shit now although I have a new advance line hooked up. So what do I need to check to make sure everything ok. |

If you can continously suck air through the vac advance, it is rooted and you need a new/recon one. Bruce. |
