Just installed the Optima Yellow top to along with the XD9000 on my D2. What can I do to check if the battery/alternator and everything else is normal? Meaning, I didn't mess anything up that might bite me when on the trail. Thanks. |

Always double check your connections, grounds and make sure all the wires are routed to prevent breakage of the insulation. I'd say get a load test at autozone or the like, they can put it on one of those battery and alternator load testers. But if its a new battery it should be fine as long as your wiring is sound, and your grounds clean and secure. Use a voltage meter and read your output from the battery then check what it is at the winch. Also check to make sure when the winch is off that your not getting a voltage drain to it, I'm not sure how that could happen, but checking all the wirng couldn't hurt. |
