I got hit by a rock on the Highway a couple weeks ago and now it looks like someone shot my windshield with a BB gun. Does anyone know if the glass shops can repair a D2 heated windshield? If not, where can I get one cheap? |

If it has cracked ore than 1" than it would have to be replaced and can't be repaired. I have about a 2 foot crack in mine on the passanger side now for 2 years. |

i had a "bb gun" sized pop on mine and they were able to fix it. BUT, it was more of a situation where the two sheets of glass delaminated than glass loss, so that may have made it better. their warning to me was that the element in that area might not warm anymore. but, at least it is easier to see through. |

It's not a crack per say. It's a perfectly round pop in the glass. I'll take it down to the glass doctor and see what they say. How much was your repair, Michael? |

30 bucks or so...i actually did a little side deal with a guy that was out to fix my dad's broken glass. so i pulled around pointed to my problem and he did the fix-it job while doing dad's. so i am sure the money went right in his pocket. |

If it is just a pop than it can be glued and possably buffed out if it is not too deep. It should'nt be that much. Check with your insurance. A lot of times they cover the cost of it so they don't have to replace the windshield. |

I've gotten 2 pops like that in my front window, and both times the insurance sent a repair company out to my office and did the repair work absolutely free. I know most of the time insurance will cover small bb gun type cracks without charging towards your deductable if you have comprehensive coverage. |
