I'm wondering what your thoughts were post-lift. Most consider the OME lifts to improve onroad ride and handling of the <2003 Discos; the 2003's are so much better than the older ones that I wonder if this still holds true. I'm waffling about whether to lift mine before the warranty is up, and just trying to take all factors into consideration. TIA |

Nate, doing a lift before warranty may void the warranty. Also, with a 2003 if you're doing this to improve on-road handling, you may not notice much of a difference. They are already much better on-road so if that's all you're doing it for, I don't see you noticing a significant benefit. You may also have issues with the ACE system on the 2003 with a lift depending on how high a lift you're doing. I don't know of too many 2003 owners on here that have done a lift yet but those are some of the issues you may face. |

Nate, I have an 03 and am just about to lift it. I already have 265 M/T's just debating on the springs. check the tread below on OME rear springs, that was my question to the group, good info in there. Check out Rikki Rockett in the D2 photo gallery he has an 03 with lift. -jim |

I have an '03 Disco with a 3" lift. It DOES ride better on the road and, obviously, there is no comparison off-road. I have been to the local dealer with my truck, no one has never said anything about the lift. In fact when I was there to buy parts for my recently trail-removed rear bumper, a bunch of service guys came out to see. They were all glad to see a LR being "used". If there was an issue with suspension... well not really a LR problam anymore. Axles? Not directly effected by my lift, shouldn't be a problem. Drive shafts? We'll just have to see! I have talked about it in general terms with the service manager. It seems that the dealer has quite a bit of leway as to when something can be warrantied. Once a dealer flags a vehicle as being modified, however, any warranty claim, with any dealer, will be an uphill battle (per the dealer). I think it depends on the dealer. Some dealers may not tell their customers that the truck has been "flagged". So far, my local dealer has been pretty cool and supportive. |

Mike, does your '01 with the ACE have SLS? If so do you have to remove the SLS in order to do a lift? |

Toad it seems that once I started to go off-roading and such and came in for service my guy would exagerate some of my claims so that the warrenty would cover them. Things that we both agreed on that broke off-road he got the warrenty to cover them. I guess it all depends on your dealer. |

Nate: Start by getting some 16 inch wheels and stick 265/75 MTs on them. and go use it a bit then decide if you want to go further.
