Well guys, I cut out the cats and the computer reset and everything was runnine fine... I reset the base idle and adjusted the timing and everything was all good. I started down the highway and after about 45mins of driving the truck just died! I can turn it over but it won't crank. I swap the relays of the ecu and fuel pump with a known good one and nothing. ideas??? |

Everything tight and still set right in the ignition? All the wires still where they belong? I know these are basic questions, but I'd be willing to set something has gotten dislodged as a result of your work around the dizzy. As another possibility, I've not gotten the dizzy down tight and its moved around until the timing was off causing real rough running. |

Check the fuses to the fuel pump and other EFI components (fuse box under the hood AND the one under the steering wheel (95 RRC)...otherwise I think the rest are just the right and down of the heater controls with a plastic cover that breaks all too easy. A blown fuse was a culprit for a similar situation. Also, I had a problem w/ my Disco where by removing the EFI ECU had fried a wire on the fuel pump wiring harness because water rotted it out to the point where a spike in current in the wire made it fail. Had a similar problem with my ignition coil (one of the 4 smaller resisted wires was bad...b*** to find w/o a multimeter). |
