I'm pulling out my alternator on my 1996 D1 SE7 to take it in to get new one. I'm embarassed to say I can't get it out. I've pulled out two bolts, it's not even loose and now I'm lookin at the belt and I'm stuck. I was stupid and started this without a manual. I just need the basic steps. Thanks in advance. |

Nevermind everyone it was just pressed into place and so tight it wouldn't move till I took a hockey stick to it or in this case a Canadian pry bar (I'm originaly Canadian) I think I'll be getting good at this I'm gonna try a rebuilt Decker unit. thanks... |

Forget the rebuilds. Go with a new unit and save yourself the headache |

If you do the Mean Green, is it a pain to get a new serp belt that fits. I have read here that you need a longer belt to accomodate the larger wheel on the alt.

Went through 5 rebuilds in 2 months! The last one caught on fire! Lickilly , I was able to put it out with minimal damage. Bought a new one, and 2 years later, still no problems. |
