Has anyone with aftermarket front and rear bumpers bothered to check the angles of approach and departure? I was curious how a DII with aftermarket bumpers would compare to the H2.

I second that. What good is the approach and departure angle if you can't get the door sills over the obsticle?

Don't know off hand. I'm a D1 owner. Not sure I remember my a and d angles without looking in the book. Think there 34/29 f/r. But you got me curious on the D2. If I find somethng I'll post it.

Hopefully this link works:

http://www.new2003discovery.com/au/3_4_PHYSICAL_CAPABILITIES_1.ASP?ses=2

Otherwise, I found it by going into the new2003discovery site until you find the "Sitemap" link in the top right corner, click on it, then go to "Physical capabilities" and choose "Geometry".

Hope that helps.

Eric, that might be kind of hard to compare. Most people have installed a lift by the time they get around to installing the aftermarket bumpers.

Each lift will vary and each bumper would vary as well, so your question would need to include which lift and which bumper.

Don't worry to much about the actual stats. The fact is that you will always end up rubbing at some point in time. A more "aggressive" set of bumpers and a higher lift will minimize rubbing on things you may rub on today. However, that will probably just make you attempt things that you wouldn't before. If you are going to be rubbing on things to get over with your bumpers, be sure to protect your gas tank and get some sliders as well. Also, go slow and be careful. The underside of your Disco is not like a matchbox car. There are plenty of exposed things to get hung up on if you get that front end over.

I understand the lift and bumpers will vary, I was just curious what kind of angles you have with your mods. I did not state my question very well. I have the OME HD lift with front/rear ARB lockers. I am now looking at different bumpers. I read that the H2 had like a 40 degree approach and wondered what the greatest angle that could be achieved on the disco
