Disco Series I is stuck in diff lock and all normal techniques to unlock it have failed. Any advice? Anyone have any experience with changing a fan clutch? Thanks |

Is the shifter free,or is the shifter knob stuck as well? Itmight be a linkage problem, or it might be internal. Either way, it ain't gonna be pretty as there just isn't much clearance. Fan clutch, piece of cake. 1-7/16" wrench. |

Shifter is stuck as well... I know its internal but I thought there may be a way to "unwind" the diff if you were to put it up on a hoist, then do some magic with the wheels to unlock it. I have the shop manual coming soon. Ill let you know what I find out if I dont hear from you. How do you stop the shaft from spinning when you use the wrench to lossen the clutch? |
