I have tried to e-mail Kaymar in Austraila for the last three weeks to no avail. Are they on vacation? No response.

ARB USA told me that they don't import Kaymar accessories. I saw one of their bumpers with the swing away tire carrier and jerry can holder and I now want one. I would have one made locally(ie: J**P shop), but I'm scared it'd look like something Jed Clampet would have. I couldn't do that to my fine British 4WD vehicle! Too much pride!

I think someone said Greg French made something like this. If you are out there, I thought I read that you scrapped the spare tire carrier because you didn't like it?Would like a pic of it though. I asked about this once before, never had time to follow up. I need something foolproof. (meaning me) Thanks.

I got my Kaymar roof rack from these guys;

Althought they sell items to the Land Cruiser crowd, they told me they always try to stock kaymar land rover stuff for discoveries. Good guys to work with too.

Matthew, actually it was me. It wasn't a good design, and looked bad also. I'm going to give it another shot this Fall. Unfortunately I don't have the pictures any longer. Sorry I wasn't of more help.

Called man-a-free today. Said they would special order a bumper for me. If I get one, I'll send you a pic or diagram of it. It better be good darn stuff for what they want for it. It looks good anyhow.

Here's the Kaymar page: http://www.kaymar.com.au/landis.html

Would like to here from someone that has one though.

Matthew: just sold my FJ62 which had a kaymar rear bumper with spare tire carrier, jerry can carrier and the work light. got it from Jonathan and Jay at TLC in Van Nuys, CA. It worked great, moved the tire out from under the truck and allowed for more rear clearance.

I had a few minor complaints about the set-up, the bright aluminum diamond plate was too shiny looking for my taste, and the bent bolts for the hold-opens were plain steel. I was going to pull the diamond plate and have it powder coated but never got around to it. I pulled the bolts and cold galvanized them and put them back. Jay at TLC said that kaymar recognized the problem and now ships plated bolts.

Also, when I put a padlock on the tire carrier, it touched the carrier and every little bump caused a rattle: solved that with a little liquid rubber on the bottom edge of the padlock.

Replaced the daily driver FJ with a 1991 RRC: a new set of problems :-)

This is another nice set up, again it comes from the crusier crowd.

It really looks good guys. Now i'll have a place for a Hi-lift and everything! I'm excited!

Now, just wonder if I can mount two spares on it?
(Just kidding!) :-)
