I am looking at buying a new winch for the front of my truck... I would like some opinions on brands, poundage, dual batters, hydraulic? I currently have a Warn 8000lb and I am rebuilding and will be installing it in the rear... |

Larry, you've not paid attention here much, have ya? lol...... Jason, I'm not knocking the Husky, I have no personal experience with it. However, a lot of folks here do not like them. Ron toasted one, and Superwinch wouldn't help him out with it. Yeah, it was on some CT trucks, but, that doesn't mean that it is a must-have.... Most folks here prefer the larger Ramsey if you're going electric. Hydraulic: some folks swear by 'em. But, your vehicle has to be running.... if you're on your side to the point it's not gonna turn over, you're stuck, whereas an electric could upright you. The power-steering on the Rover isn't the greatest to begin with, known to leak, so you'd stress an already-weak system. But, you could get a hydraulic PTO, that would work w/o concern for steering. Depends on what your usage/conditions/frequency/price range are..... -L
