I have the same question. My centeral door lock system is broken and I need to take the drivers door panel off. I know there are plastic clips that hold it on, and I think you have to pry them loose, but i am not sure where to start. I also think there is a special tool you are supposed to use. |

Go to an auto parts store and get a trim tool remover. looks like a screwdriver except it is bent and has a v notch on the end. cheap and they work well. |

Mike and Mark, Basically there are little red studs on the back of the panel. Each of the studs are grooved so they slide into a hole and grip. So you just basically can pull the panel away from the door. People use the tool because the stud is basically attached to styrofoam on the inside and if you are not careful the glued holder of the stud will tear away or the stud may break. |

Thanks guys. Any tips on how to put the panel back on? Just line up the studs and give it a push i suppose. |

I just went through this whole process on my front driver and passenger doors to replace the window regulators. The handles have to be removed using a socket wrench,(bolts are underneath), the speakers have to come out. Also right behind the door latch there is a screw. After all that stuff is out just start at the bottom and pull, or you could use the trim remover. |

Do use that trim removal tool. I broke a couple of those plastic studs pulling off the panel without it. No big deal otherwise, though. |

Go ahead and get some super glue before you pull the panels off. I was super careful and still pulled the plastic studs from the panel. Just glued them back on. |

I just pulled my panel off with no problem. First, remove the door handle bolts, and the handle. Then the screw under the door latch handle. You don't have to remove the speaker, Once you have loosened the panel, you can just reach behind it and pull the wires off the speaker. Slip the panel popper between the door panel and the door, and slide it up or down until you feel a stud. Then pull the panel popper out a bit, and try to get the stud in the notch of the panel popper. then lust lift slowly un the panel pooer until the first stud comes out. Now you have a little flex on the panel and can see a bit more of what you are doing, Just work your way around, and pry off all (14!) studs.
