My 95 Disco I is blowing cool, but not cold (60 degree) air. This won't quite cut it here in New Mexico during the summer. I see no refrigerant through the sight glass. I was prepared to add R-134a to it, but when I metered the low pressure side, it said 35-40 psi, which I thought would be plenty. My Hanes manual doesn't help, it just says "experienced personel" only for work on the A/C. Any ideas what the the correct low pressure side PSI would be for this vehicle? Or other possible cure. All the vents and baffles seem to be working correctly.

You should be fine upto about 45psi, but anywhere from 35-45psi should blow cold. Past 45 is usually overcharged and above 55 shows mechanical problems.
