So I finally found the one I wanted, with what is actually a perfect feature set for me. But what, technically, is it? '96 black Disco with brush guards front and rear, dual moonroofs, faux woodgrain or tortoiseshell accents, cargo cover in back where the jumpseats would be if it had them, 10 cd changer. Not actually sure about rear air, would have to check. It was made late in 96 I believe (will go double-check that). Thanks. |

SD has cloth seats, no sunroofs. If it has a sunroof it was added by the dealer or aftermarket. SE has leather seats and two Land Rover installed sunroofs. SE7 has leather and 2 Land Rover installed jumpseats in the back and the hydraulic step. Having said that, you can always add aftermarket sunroofs and jump seats to a SD. |

Hmm, well then. Apparently it's an SE with a cargo cover in back and an added CD changer. I didn't see a hydraulic step in the back, just a nice indent where you can get a foot-grip. Heck, it's also got a bunch of buttons I've yet to figure out. I'm not pressing any of the red ones until I read the manual. |

Oh yes, leather seats it has. Even in decent shape. Even has the little rubber mat thingy on the dash. And a totally inadequate dual cup holder, unless that center console is meant for the largest Big Gulps. |

My 96 D1 SD has leather seats, but they aren't power. Some even have the CD changers. The easiest way to tell what the trim level is, is to look down at the lower right corner of the rear door. It should say SD, SE, or SE7. If nothing's there I'd ask if the truck was wrecked and look for signs that the rear of the truck was repaired. I think it was 97 or 98 (I'm not real sure) that they moved the SD, SE, or SE7 indicator to the bottom of the front quarter panels just foward of the front two doors. On your rear bumper you should have a plastic "skid guard" with dimples that protrude upwards. If that's not there and you don't have any decals on the rear door, my suspicion would be that the rear of the truck suffered some body damage and was repaired. I could be wrong though, I'm just going by what you have indicated. By the way, you're correct, the cup holders are totally inadequate. |

Got the skid guard. It's dark and I'm sleepy. But I will check the label spots you mentioned in the a.m., as well as see if I can find the CD changer. |

Have the dealership run the vin, it would say when it was originally shipped by LR. |
