The two buttons with the triangle and the ball rolling upon it? WTH are those for? All the Discos I've looked at havve not had a manual and pressing these buttons doesn't seem to do anything. So, I'm going to swallow hard and ask the question :D *feels foolish* :D |

Cruise control. Can't you tell? That's a disco going down the highway! My truck has two of those buttons, one for the Cruise, the other, I got later to run my Hella 4000's. |

Hey Silly, why don't you change your profile, so we at least know your first name... |

Hey John. Why don't you swap the cover on that cruise control for the Hellas with one from a front/rear fog switch? If you are talking about a DII, I think I may even have some left over front fog switches somewhere, but I'd have to go dig around in the garage for them. |

Greg it is a D2, If you have a fog cover I would buy one from you. I just didn't buy an extra fog light switch for $20 at the time just to get the cover... E-mail me off line if you have one... |

So one of those is to turn the cruise on and the other is to turn it off? That may explain why the set button didn't work on any of the trucks I drove :D * edited profile :D * |

Nice to meet you Brent! Hope you find the Disco that's right for you. I just felt "Silly" calling you "Silly" You should have only one Cruise Control button, unless like me the Previous Owner used a Cruise switch to turn something else on and off, like I did with my Hellas. |

Brent, I just thought of something, If the buttons were on the bottom left side of the Pod on a D2, normally those are blanks, the Cruise should be the second or third button on the right. Sounds like the PO used them to turn something on and off maybe lights. Lots of guys like myself, use the simple "on /off" function of the cruise control button for lights, so they can keep a stock appearance with LR buttons on the Pod. |

John, I'll dig around sometime over the next day or two to see what I have. I had a bunch of switches that were left over after doing my light install, but can't remember what switches and what covers there are. Seems like I have at least one front fog cover though. |

Thanks Greg, no big deal, but let me know. One fog light cover is all I need! |

I'm sorry, these are on a D1. So far every D1 I've looked has had two. The difference between the two buttons was the location of the triangle. Can't see the markings, but on this pic they are the two lower buttons on the pod to the left of the steering wheel. http://a332.g.akamai.net/f/332/936/12h/www.edmunds.com//pictures/VEHICLE/1997/La nd_Rover/10928/006347-E.jpg |

Volume control for the stereo. If it's an aftermarket stereo they may no longer be functional. Hope that eases your mind. JR |

Ahhhhhhh that makes sense now. I test drive with the radio off, that would explain why they didn't work. Thank you, that's one mystery solved :D |
