When I got out of my Vehicle (D1)at home last night I heard a popping sound, like bubble gum popping.
Just thought Hmmmmmm what was that and took a walk around the Disco. But seeing or hearing nothing more I just shrugged it off and gave it no more attention until this morning.
First thing I saw this morning as I approached the disco was a small pool of OIL.
I got down and found the oil had come from the old power steering thingy (box)
Now I'm not too slow so I was thinking hoses, hoses and I checked them out and they seamed ok.
Then I was thinking Bugga Bloody seals, remembering that popping sound last night.
I rang the local Auto shop and asked if they would look at it and give me a quote to get it fixed, they did.
The quote was for a rebuild of my Power Steering Box that they said was necessary to fix the problem, $1185.45.
I said Bugga Shit Bum ok if that what it will take to fix we had better do it.
But I had not given up just yet, I got a second quote from an old friend who happens to be an x service manager of a LandRover work shop who is now running his own garage.
He gave it a look see and told me no rebuild just a new seal Oh and $130.00.
Who should I go whith??

It looks like the puddle is next to the passenger side wheel... Unless it's dripping down the trailing arm I don't understand why it'd be either of the above.

Half opinion, half looking for explanation,

Call me crazy (and some have) but if he is an old friend who used to be a Genuine Land Rover Service Manager and now owns his own shop and he says that all you need is a seal for $130, then get the work done.

If you don't trusts your friends, then who can you trust.

yep,
I will be going with the old friend.
A good point to be taken is to shop around.
Oh and keep an eye on the bulletin board and share our experiences.
