My exhaust system on my 120K '96 D1 (120K yesterday!) is leaking and sounds like a maserati. I'm not much for that kind of grumble, and I ordered a new exhaust system from Atlantic British. I decided to let a local mechanic put it on the truck for me (and dispose of the old one, etc.), and I set up an appointment on Thursday, thinking the parts would arrive tomorrow. Alas, UPS ground was extra-speedy (thanks, A-B for getting it out quickly!), and it arrived today, all bundled up. I haven't opened the package, but I'm wondering if I should get it apart tomorrow and self-assemble it as much as possible before I hand it over to the mechanic. Is this possible? Suggested? I also want to make sure all the proper gaskets were included in the kit, so I can get them tomorrow if not. How many parts should be included? (it is cat-back). Thanks! -Chris |

I got the same thing yesterday all wrapped up in plastic. I got the standard exhaust @ $269. Only difference is I plan on doing it myself this weekend. Midas quoted me $150 for the install so to me its worth it to get a little crud in my face, a banged knucke or two and save the bucks. When I spoke to AB about it, they told me they include everything you need except for the frame side hangers and the rubber bushings. I ordered the rubber bushings because they were cheap insurance against the old ones failing. |

Jamie - thanks for the reply. I don't think it will be too hard a job. The local mechanic in the town I'm in for the summer charged me $88 to put it on. It was well worth it (for me, with no tools here in rural Maine), and he reported no troubles. Cheers. -Chris |
