The wife was driving to MD from NC yesterday and she experienced a loss of some power and then it would pick back up. Happened about 4 times for a couple of minutes each time. Any thought?
Dirty Fuel Filter?
(It's at the Annapolis Dealership as we speak)

Original fuel pump?
Original ignition wires?

D-Web sticker was intermittently flapping in wind? (+20% power, remember?)

Ignition wires have been replaced with Magnecor. Another symptom is that when it does it the car slows doen but the RPMs increase. The guy at LR suggested maybe speed sensors as well. Does this additional symptom help?

i had the same problem last weekend driving from NJ-MA. looked around Dweb and found link to <http://www.robisonservice.com/servicedep/rover_advice1.asp> which was helpful. scroll down to "carbon fouling 1+2" to read more. then i found no gas cap upon my return-stupid NJ full-serve laws! problem has not come back. so check for your gas cap or read on at Robison svc.

You can't fill your own tank in NewJersey? Is that to keep the unemployment rate below 20% by staffing fuel pumps?

no good answer for why. they could at least remember the damn cap! they didn't even check the oit (this IS a rover we're talking about) or wash the windows...
at least their unemployment is low...
