This is a topic with many opinions. The archives hold at least a couple of discussions about this. I would not advise wood. It can be done to look very nice, but it is like owning a wooden boat. Your always refinishing it. (I just took the wood floor off the back of mine. I like the light from my sunroof's so my next choice will probably be either wire grid, or expanded steel plate. There is an article in the tech section about the expanded steel. I have heard of but have noty seen a diamond plate setup, but like I said, I like the light from the sunroof. -Reed |

Forget the sunroof. Go with diamond plate. It's light and extremely durable. I couldn't see walking on wire, plus it's pretty ugly. A custom metal fabrication company near me built it and did an awesome job. They notched it around the tubes to get the maximum strength. I have some holes in it to secure my pelican cases and other gear and it works great. Check out my disco in the photo gallery. Steve Rupp
