I have a replacement window for my Disco2. It was easy to remove the broken one, but putting the new one in is a royal B#$#@$! The glass is wider than the opening, and needs to get into the grooves on the window frame, but it's jsut too big to slide in ! How the hell do you do that ? I must be missing something - something's gotta be removeable.... Many thnaks in advance !

you put a piece of rope in the rubber where the window fits in, with one end hanging out. put the glass up against it applying some pressure from the outside then start to pull the rope out and make sure the rubber comes up around the glass by way of the rope pulling it over. round the while window as such and presto new window.

Should have been more precise - it was the driver side window, which needs to fit in the door frame...

Anyway, after much cursing, I found out I had to unbolt the window frame from the door, slide it up a bit, and that gave me enough room to insert a replacement window for the on that some low life had smashed last week.

The only thing I could not do properly was reposition the door lock thingie that pops thru the door panel. Not enough room to work, it would not stay put in the door, so I eventually threw it across the garage where it'll lay forever... too damn bad ;-(
