It is your headlight switch. Remove it and check for corrosion, then spray some WD-40 or something in the contacts to help the electricity flow better. Put it back in and it should work just fine. If not, you may need a new switch. I had to replace mine, and when the old one went, it scorched the connector, so the new one craps out every once in a while. I just do the WD-40 trick, and it works like a charm. Really easy job. All you need is a crosspoint screwdriver (Phillips) and about 30 minutes if you have never done it. I am to the poing where I could do it at a red light if I really needed to! |

1. Take the cover off the steering column (3 phillips screws underneath 2. Turn the steering wheel 90 degrees to the left (YOur key will have to be on to do this) 3. Remove the 2 (maybe 3)phillips screws from the base of the headlight switch 4. Pull the switch out (Give it a careful tug toward the DS window) 5. Unplug the 2 connectors. Check for scorching. Spray with WD-40 or similar. Clean with a small brush or pipe cleaner or something. If you want, check the connectors with a test light or multi-meter. I have never done this, but I knew I was getting power. 6. Put back together in the reverse order. 7. Turn headlights on. If the don't work, buy a new switch. Find someone who is parting out and save yourself $100.00. Hope this helps. It is a really easy job. Once you get into it, it should be self-explanitory. |
