The other day I pulled into a parking lot and turned off my truck as usual. I noticed a funny noise, but thought it must have been the car next to me. When I got out and walked in front of my truck, I realized the noise was coming from mine. It sounded like the fan was still running. Not freewheeling, but actually running...like with power, but the engine was not on. I got closer and listned just to be sure. I got back in and started it up, then shut it down again and it went off. Anybody ever heard of this? I used to have a Chrysler that did this, but it was supposed to. The Rover has never done it before or since, so I am thinking it may have just been one of those Lucas-things. |

Mine does it every time I've been running the a/c on a hot day then shut it off. It always turns itself off after a couple of minutes. |

If the engine is hotter tan 230deg f or fuel is hotter than 158 the fans will for 10 min after the engine is switched off. |

They are setup to do that but one thing you might check. Rovers are built for extreme conditions, hot and cold, and the rig does a good job cooling on its own to keep a consistent temp. I would check the radiator and maybe flush it and check for mud and debris between the radiator and A/C unit under the shroud and clean. This maybe an early sign to things to come. |

Ok. It was about 95 out, and I had the AC cranked while in stop and go Myrtle Beach traffic, so it makes sense. Thanks |

My fans only come on when I've been running the A/C. I can be pulling a trailer that is loaded w/o the a/c and it stays at a constant temp. Fans only run after I shut it off when the A/C has been on. |

Greg, There is a thermostat in your electric fan that will turn it on regardless if the engine is on or off if it requires extra cooling. |

Parked mine at the beach and noticed the fans on for the first time, thought huh no problem..... When I got back ( +/- 1 hour) fans still running but now battery too flat to crank !! So every time now I make sure to turn off A/c and make sure the fans are not on. |

I think everybody should know that the English are not known for their electrical systems. I've had a couple of problems that made me crazy. Thank god I am an electrician. |
