My 96' disco has intermittent vibrations and a shudder that shakes the review mirrors over 70mph. My front prop. shaft U-joints have no play in them, so replacing them wouldn't help, right? Should I save and buy a D2 shaft or fix it once and for all with a GBR front shaft? Thanks, Dave |

If you say the front shaft is O.K., why do you think it's the front shaft giving you problems?? I would get the tires balanced first - by someone who has the right equipment. Not the kid at the corner gas station. |

The wheels were balanced recently. The vibration came 3000 miles after a 2.5" lift. The rear shaft feels tight and the rubber coupling is fine. Because the front shaft is shorter, the angle of its joints are changed the most. Plus, wheels out of balance will cause a shaking or shudder, but not the loud vibrations I'm hearing from the driveline. I can start and stop the vibration noise by applying or letting off the gas, so one of my propeller shafts is worn out. Dave |

I'm going through this now on my 96. I'm currently waiting for my GBR rear shaft to arrive and driving in front-wheel-drive only. Still have front shaft vibes with no visible play. After the GBR install I'll remove the front and see how it feels. |
