95 disco

i was getting a code 44 so i just replaced my driver side 02 sensor. which was clearly damaged... (Bent from hitting the side frame rail)

anyway i just fired my rig back up and i still am seeing the check engine light and still getting a code 44. do i have to do something to clear the code or should it have just gone away????

disconnect the battery for about 15 minutes, then reconnect. that should clear the code.

I too went through the same thing. Had a code 44 on a 94 Disco and replaced both O2 sensors. I cleared the code only for it to reappear.

Any ideas?

There might be another code after the 44, disconnecting the battery will erase the next code (if there is one). Another way of clearing a code goes like this, with the key in the on position, on the passenger side under the glove box, there is a white connector, disconnect for about 5-10 seconds, reconnect, switch ignition to the off position, wait for relay to click, turn ignition to on position and check LCD readout under seat, if there is another code, it will appear. Hope this helps.

Thanks, Wes. Cleared the code again...drove all day and it DID NOT reappear. Hope it stays that way.

Will try the white connector next time.
Thanks again!
