Is it normal for the ABS to kick in when I go over small bumps? Sometimes the ABS light comes on when I am on the freeway, or when I go over bumps. Turning off the car, and on again resets it. But it seems kind of odd. Anyone have this problem?

Check your wheel speed sensors. (Black cable leading to a plug in the top of your front hubs.) Its not uncommon for them to withdraw a mm or two, confusing your ABS. Just clean the area around them and push them down. The more expensive alternative is that you have a bad sensor, but with an intermittant problem I doubt it. |

Eric, If I'm not mistaken, I think this was a recall item a couple of years back. I made the same comment to my dad while we were driving to Home Depot, around two years ago. A couple of weeks after that, I got a letter from LRNA to call my local dealer and schedule an appointment. You may want to call your dealer and ask if your diso was one of the many recalls for this particular incident. Good Luck, Gerry |
