I have been towing both in my Disco I and RRC about 2000lbs for 600 miles on Disco and then 4000 lbs on my RRC after both events i needed a new distributor (not cheep)

Has any one seen this before or am I simply really unlucky?

What malfunctions occured as a result of your broken distributor? What part of your distributor broke (did a tooth break off the drive gear at the bottom?)Did your truck stop running or run poorly. I've towed my race car and all my gear (1200 lbs approx) with a lot of vehicles (85 Mustang GT., 71 Dodge Trans Van, and most recently my 95 Discovery). I've never heard anyone in the pit lane mention towing cause a distributor to break on their vehicles and it has not happened to me. If anyone is telling you that they are related I'd like to know how it could be possible. It looks like you are just unlucky.
