1999 Disco II 7 seater question

Here's a pic: http://www2.pbase.com/image/18829293 http://www3.pbase.com/image/18829292 2000 year models and higher have the left seat recessed like the right side. Is there something under the left side I should be aware of? I may remove the seat and mount something there and I just want to be sure what is going on there before I start making holes. Anyone removed this seat? How hard is it to remove/replace it? Thanks for any info.
