After suffering for a couple months with my AB Coil Conversion I have solved all my problems. I spoke with Eric from AB the other day concerning my Coil Conversion. My front has been sitting about 1.5"-2" higher than the rear and the Rover would feel every bump in the road no matter how small. Eric said it sounded like the shop that had installed my kit put the front springs in the rear and the rear in the front. Well, this past weekend I took it upon myself not trusting the shop I took it to originally to do the job to fix the issue. I am very very pleased to say all previous problems are now gone. The truck handles great and I could only be happier with taller springs. I just got some new tires on it as well (Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo 265/70r/16) and they are fantastic so far. Almost no road noise compared to stock and the traction is incredible on road. Have not had a chance to test off road but so far they are a dream and look very baddass filling up the wheel well nicely. I am currently looking around at different spings and came across www.northwestparts.com that offer Green Monster springs with heights from 1"7". I am thinking about the 3" which will look great with the larger tires I have now. They also will be producing a replica of the Safety Devices rack which should be on sale in the next couple of months. Has anyone dealt with them before or have any comments about the green monster springs compared to OME or such? Sorry for the lengthy message but I just had to let someone know how happy I am now |

Rhett: Thats great, in my opinion the best thing anyone could do is to get rid of the EAS, I had a ton of little problems with my previous 95 4.0se's EAS system. I will be putting on OME 761 springs in the front and 781 in the rear of my 96 RR 4.0se, just got them from EE and will be putting them on in the next few weeks, going on vacation next week, hope to get 2" to 3" lift, not really sure because no one has ever done this and I just guessed what springs to get based on the info from the lift measurement charts and measuring my springs, I will also be fabricating spacers to adjust the lift if needed. I really like the OME springs, I have them on my 92 RRC and couldn't be happier with them, they are in my opinion one of the best springs around and time tested. The springs on the 6 month old motorcarsltd conversion are already rusting, my couple of year old OME's look brand new and have held up great under lots of off-roading. I will keep the board posted on how the lift turns out. Be aware that the spring heights of the new range rover coil spring conversions are not the same as the older rr or the discovery I and II, so don't just get any springs that work for them, that was my problem, no one had any experience with this, so I will be the guinea pig, I just hope I don't get 2" in the front and 4" in the back. |

Certainly let me kow how the lift turns out. These 4.0's are coming down in price and things will be interesting as more people make them off road worthy. RK |
