Try going to trail information section to look for local off road trips. There have been a few to the NJ pine barrens lately.

John

Modifications. Such as mud terrains, snorkel, winch, lift etc. Keep an eye open in the trails section, I think Peter and I may be doing another pine barrens run soon, although I suppose I should tell Peter this LOL. We regularly take stock vehicles (with no mods). If you just wanna explore something easy and legal, pop down to Wharton State Forrest, in NJ (its the biggest tract of green here) and take a GPS, or just get lost. Enter at the ranger station off 206, about 20 minutes south of route 70. Its mainly sand roads, but there are very good trails there if you don't mind scratches or deep water or mud. Maps at the ranger's station.

Dean

ps Here's what to expect (but you can avoid the mud in most cases if you want to)

Hey Dean

I replied to ur emailed.
I have no real mods done to my truck.
When i purchased it, I was more concerned about making it look pretty and now is when i'm starting to consider offroading. I don't mind the mud, water and scratches(maybe a bit the scratches, lol). I will drive down to Wharton one of these weekends.
few mods...
A brush bar (UK style, rubber/foamy one) w/ the safari 5k lights - i know the bar sucks but at the time it looked nice.
and side moldings around the car and plastic lamp guards - i know they suck too.
thats it....anyway thanks for the info.

John

John

The brush bar is actually pretty good for brush, and if the bolts are tight there are reasonable recovery points attached. If you want to do Water Road, get some decent shackles (4.75 tonne rating) and a couple of 3" (not 2") recovery straps (Pep Boys $60 each or get them online (e.g. ExpeditionExchange). You'll want to pre-attach them before going into the water so you can be pulled out without wasting too much time getting flooded. The rest (tools, winches, etc) Peter or I will have, and probably some others on the trip. A spare air filter is good if you dun have a snorkel yet.

John,

I can't help it, I HAVE to ask. Do you sell Viagra for a living? First thing that came to mind upon reading your screen name :-)

Karen

P.S. Dean will drag you ALL around Jersey, so it's time to go off-topic with this thread :-)
