it's so frustrating when it's time to get all the kids in the truck and that one (passenger side) jump seat wont open up. It does fold down but it won't lock into the metal floor bracket so the back rest won't open. If i play and slam and fuss with it eventually it will lock but it shouldn't be like that, should be as smooth as the other side. I have noticed that when I fold it down to open the legs are not quite as straight as the other side....but how can that bend? Does anybody know why it doesn't open 100% straight as it should (opens maybe 90-95%). Help!! I want to avoid going to the dealer or replacing it. John '00 DII

I have the exact same problem. I've tried lubing it with wd-40 to no avail. I have a month of warranty left, I'm going to have the dealer take a look, unless anyone can offer advice. |

Hey John Incase we get no help here (which i dout) and you take it back to the dealer, if they fix it plz ask them what they did (incase it happens again). I have no warranty so i would have to pay for it. Thanks John |

I had the same issue. I slammed it so hard it then wouldn't release to fold back up. Dealer covered it under warranty, and it's worked fine for the last year. I think you would be better off removing the jump seat to try any repair - the mechanism is tough to access. Once mine jammed, I had to take it to the dealer. Good Luck! |
