My 1995 has been leaking fluids of various colors over its lifetime. I now have some new ones that I'd like to trace to the source. What's the best way to clean off all the old grime and dirt-filled oil that covers the engine, transmission and transfer case? High-pressure spray at the local car wash? -Jim |

a good degreaser is what you need to start with.. I would be carefull with the high pressure washer.. it has the ability to put lots of water where you don't want it.. If you have any access to a steam cleaner.. this would be ideal... make sure to avoid direct spray onto ANYTHING electrical. Simple Green seems to do the trick for me.. it also helps if the engine is still warm...

I usually use Purple Power and high pressure sprayer. Works great, and I have found the source of many a leak. |
