I had my 2002 Disco II modified with a CDL this week using the transfer case housing and linkage from an '87 Rangie. Bill's European in Santa Fe did the work. After seeing other peoples ETC fail on the trail this has been a real priotity for me. This was the second truck Bill has done - he is ready to do more. |

Very cool Ted! You're the first I've heard to have done it to a '02 D2 and to just replace the housing is very cool. What do you think of your D2 now? |

Al, I am totally pysched about it! The short-comings of ETC alone are well documented. The ETC-CDL combo is sweet. The work that Bill did is excellent. Using the Rangie linkage, the transfer case shifts in a T pattern just like a disco 1. Personally I really prefer this to the solenoid CDL available as aftermarket for the earlier Disco II's. I am taking the truck to Moab next month, and can't wait! |

I have the linkage from a D1 myself and I also like it better than a solenoid. Good luck in Moab. |
