I have a Disco 1 with rear AC fitted. The compressor takes up space in the left rear. There is a mount for a jump seat but I want to remove the entire left rear jump seat mount from the vehicle without affecting the AC compressor. Has anyone done this before I go pulling things apart?

Well I got bored this weekend and started to extract the "armature" of the seat frame one bolt at a time--no problems. However the last bolt--the one that was the hardest to get to, was welded in place! Arg! There were maybe three faces onto which a socket would have fit--the rest was a weld bead running from the bolt head onto the metal base, which was the only thing holding the bloody contraption to the car. Just FYI in case anyone wants to go poking around back there. At least I got a chance to clean the air filter on the rear AC blower/compressor. It seems really bizarre that the bolt would be welded!
