I just put a 2 inch lift and now have decided to put a skid plate and some diff guards on my 1994 Discovery. I am looking at the regular old bolt on guards. My question is how does the rear guard do any good? I guess if you are going backwards and hit something it would do its job, but I figure most of the time in reverse you are going very slow. What say you?? I know its very difficult to get an opinion out of guys here (LOL) but I thought I would try. Thanks Charles |

Picture coming off a large rock your wheels drop and your gas tank and rear bumper hit as you come off while moving forward. It all depends on where you wheel so only you can really say if you need one. If you have to ask then you might not need one. |

If you are on rocks, it is a good idea to have one. Mostly for slipping off, or if a rock moves under your truck while you are on it. |

I have QT Sliders on my D1 and got high centered on a BIG rock. The entire vehicle weight was on the two sliders. They took the abuse without tweaking. Cadmium plated 1/4" steel. Very stout, will NOT fall off on the trail. Several vendors in USA stock them, I ordered mine from northwestparts.com |
