i've owned a few disco's and i'm back in a 95 series 1. little problem though that i was wondering if you guys could help out with. i'm hearing a chattering from behing the engine right at the transmission. it doesn't seem to effect the shifting or any operation, but it is annoying and i'm afraid a long term issue. i'm hoping i have a bad cat and just think it's coming from the trans or transfer case, but i'm probaly dreaming. also left rear power window is in-op. no response at all. any body else have this.
anyway thanks in advance for any help.

I have 95 Discovery with 79,000 I have just recently developed the chatter it comes and goes. My theroy is that it is the diff lock moving out of engagement becuase, A. I hit a big bump, B. It is worn, C. Someone (car wash attendant, valet etc.) moved the selector just enought to barely disengage it by accident and I did'nt notice.

As for your left window, it's a bug in the window ecu it was fixed on mine before I got it they replaced the l/r window regulator and the window ECU

If anyone else has had the chatter what was (is) it. Is the transfer case blown?
