sneezy-
I ran an Eaton M62 on my 3.9L 91RR for about two years. I loved the added torque, but got tired of throwing the blower belt every couple of weeks. It did NOT like to be reved above 3K...
Sold it about a year ago, and dropped in a mildy tweaked 4.6L. Close to the same amount of power, but much more reliable. I have a couple of customers still running that setup; one on a 4.0L discovery, the other on a heavily massaged 4.6L discovery. The 4.0 seems to be holding up OK, but the 4.6L's tranny is feeling the effects...
I don't miss mine at all...
my .02

craig, would the eaton m60 work on the 4.0L ? I've got one, I just need the adaptor for a rover, and a couple of ancillaries.

Lemme know,
Andy

Andy-
I don't think two cubic inches would make that much difference. So, yeah it should work.

These bottom ends don't like boost Andy. Sell that sucker and go for displacement. IMO

Regards,
Craig
