I spent a few hours walking around the fairgrounds looking at all the blown, lifted, polished, chromed trailer queens, and a few dare I say good looking jeeps that were obviously used appropriatly before ariving at the show and the only other rover I saw was a D90 in the parking lot that belongs to a friend from a few years ago. I would have thought that with Rovers North being about 20 minutes away and Dap Inc. being about 3 hours away that they would have tried to have a presence at the show. There were about 10,000 people there today and probably the same amount there tommorrow, What a missed oportunity to indoctrinate the un-educated masses to the world of Rover!! I was just down the road from there Friday and saw a few lifted Jeep's, F-350's ect. I thought something was up. I even looked in the paper that night but found no advertisment of the event. I saw a huge lifted Ford and gave the guy a big wave from my Range Rover. I am constantly trying to improve the LR image owner among the masses. Hope you had fun! |

It wasn't to bad of a show, but it needs to have some new content. 9 years of the same old stuff gets boring. There was/is a group of local enthusiast's who were talking with the promoters about trying to set up a "mini rubicon" course for some rock crawling but it never happened. Also for the past couple of years they have eliminated the RTI ramp contest. That was always worth watching, everything from stock toyotas to full blown crawlers that could drive off the ramp with out lifting a tire. Ah well, there's always next year. Mike G. 96 Disco SD |
