Okay, I am a complete idiot when it comes to electricity. I am trying to wire up a new Cobra all-in-one CB in my Disco II. I can go through the grommet uner the steering wheel to the battery terminal if I splice on some more wire. But I understand you can also connect to the fuse box. Please someone explain to a complete dullard where exactly in the fuse box I can connect without blowing up anything else. Thanks, Ted |

ted , can you just solder power lead from cb to either a switched power supply on ignition switch or a permanent one and use an inline fuse to your radio and earth it against anything behind the dash,? thats what i have done just have to be steady with the soldering iron ! mine works fine (cobra 148 gtl dx+ ) |

Thanks Colin, but I actually need even more simplistic advice - i.e. which exact wire I should connect to, what it looks like, where to find it. I do already have an inline fuse in to the radio and yes, I can figure out the ground. cheers, Ted |

Ted- Just extend the power wires on your CB to the battery. That is your cleanest source of power anyhow. Routing the power cable is easier than figuring out which wire is +12V |

Ted, I just installed my CB this weekend. I connected the CB wire to the cigar lighter fuse underneath the steering column and ground it by the chassis. It was simple and straight forward using Radioshack fuse connector. |
