If one's door-opening remote requires serious thumb work, is this a sign of: -it needing new batteries (easily swapped) -it needing new batteries (uneasily swapped) -engine trouble -needing a new remote (easily bought and set up) -needing a new remote (uneasily bought and set up) -weak thumbs Thanks... |

D- I had the same problem. First, try the very easy task of replacing the battery. It is a small, round watch-type of battery. You do that by prying apart the remote w/ a screwdriver. After putting it back together, see if that works. It didn't for me. Here's what I did: After prying it apart again, very carefully lift the rubber button assembly off the elec. board. There's a little electronic piece that fits into the rubber button that may have come unsoldered. Fit that piece back into its place on the board and touch all sides with a soldering iron. Put the rubber buttons back on and snap the remote back together. Just the "unlock" button needed to be soldered on mine. Yours may be different, but hopefully that will do the trick! ~Dave P.s. The buttons need be treated with gentleness. |
