hey My door locks click really bad when I use the remote lock. I heard someone say one day that actuators were bad and might need adjusting... Is there any diagrams of what i might have to adjust? And how hard is it? They seem to be getting really loud.... Thanks Sean |

I have a 98 that does the same thing on the drivers door. Mine has done it since I bought it kind of annoying but it still works after 4 years. I have heard that its the gears inside of the assembly and what you could do would be to somehow tighten the unit itself. I havent tried it I may need to before it burns itself out.. |

It's a pain in the ass to get to the actuators, at least in my opinion. I pulled off my door panel this weekend (with the help of a door trim remover) and found that the inner workings of the door were covered very nicely in a layer of plastic. I very carefully cut some holes in specific places (so that I could duct tape them later) and tried to get to the actuators and somehow grease them up. After probing around for a few minutes, I decided it was better left alone till it really starts to malfunction. Luckily I didn't break anything in the process of removing the door panel. If there is any easier way to get at them, please post. |

There is no other easier way to get to the actuators, you have to remove the door trim and remove the plastic cover. As for adjusting them, good luck! I've taken one of mine apart, literally I split it open in order to see how it works so I could fix another one, but once they are bad there is no fixing them unless your a professional actuator mechanic if there is such a thing. I ended up buying new ones, and that fixed my problem. If I were you I'll just live with the problem until it totally stops working!!!! |
