My independant LR garage told me I needed to have the tie rods replaced on my '95 Disco I (95k on it). Couple of questions: Am I replacing the tie rod ends (I asumed so, since he told me they'd be about $60 each) or the actual rod? Also, I've been thinking about a 2" lift with OME shocks and springs. Can't afford all right now, but should I consider doing all at the same time...meaning, will it save time/money for the jobs to be done together, or does it matter (are they working on different components, etc.)? |

For about $75 total you can get all 4 tie rod ENDs from www.dap-inc.com |

I just did my rod ends over the weekend on my '93 RRC. Got them from XK Limited (http://www.xkslandrover.com/) for a little over $7.00 USD a piece. Since I live in N. Ontario (the land of road salt), a good dose of Liquid Wrench, some heat, and two good size pipe wrenches and the old ones came right out. Put the new ones in, checked my rods for total length, installed them; all within a little over an hour. Pretty easy DIY job. |
