i need some help, i am looking at changing the starter setup on my 99 disco 1. right now i have 78000 miles on all original genuine equipment. the changes that i am thinking of making is: Magnecor 8.5mm spark plug wires, Bosch +4 Platinum, genuine distributor cap and rotor. I need suggestions to whether or not this is the best way to go. keep money in mind guys, but give me your best ideas. |

Ben, 8.5mm are a pia to fit in the looms- I'm running 8mm Magnecors with +4 Platinums and the setup is good. I changed these out due to the ECU throwing codes left and right - after the Magnecors and +4s no more codes thrown. For what purpose, though, are you changing these all out? I think the Genuine stock stuff is pretty solid, even at 78000 (thats about when I changed mine out).

I didn't realize there was a distributer cap and rotor on the 99 D1. That's what I drive and just replaced my plugs with Bosch Plat's. Truck runs great and I've got over 120,000 miles on it. |
