My electric seats on my 2000 SDII are acting up. I go to adjust and they stop moving. I cant move them back or forth. I can move them up and down only. Any advise? Thanks, |

ok - I'll give you my short story... I have a 99 series 2. The electric seats had a problem from day one. It turned out that there was a design flaw in the tracks that would bind up the seats if you move them ALL the way back. The fix was to put some sort of clamp close to the end of the track to keep the seat from moving ALL the way back - until a permanent solution was developed. It was a warranty item for me the entire time. I'll need to go take a peek under mine to see if there's any obvious mod. Anyway, the last time it locked up I took it back and they fixed it for good. After a while driving the car the seats were able to move. Do the seats have some kind of motor that needs to be charged so something to that effect. The car is still under warranty so no problem taking in. The only prob is the dealer is 150 miles away. |
