Hi this is my first posting so bear with me, please
GUYS I was driving my 97 se today (2 weeks old, no books/records) when srs, abs, battery and oil light erupted. next, fuel pump stopped and a quiet stall. DEALER says battery is the wrong capacity. Spiralcell ordered. Jump start worked for a while. But after jump, no guages worked. ALT. LOOKS AND SMELLS NEW. any tips please?????

get a volt meter and check battery with engine off, then get a jump start and check battery after... sounds like either a bad Alt or bad Battery. Just because the Alt looks or smells new, doesn't mean some CB stuck in a rebuilt POS.

By the way - ball joints, shocks, starter and sterring box need replacing. Drive belt installed wrong. Condensor motors blown. BUT a very good cash buy. This is a project and I appreciate all of your continued help with my disco. (my friend drives a 2003 RR and LOVES my truck...)

I am betting the belt is installed wrong or alt bad.
